From September 1, 2026, all VAT-registered businesses must be able to receive electronic invoices. By September 1, 2027, even micro-businesses will need to issue them in a fully structured, compliant format.
What’s changing?
🔹 Goodbye PDFs and email attachments — hello standardized formats like UBL, CII, and more.
🔹 A certified Partner Dematerialization Platform (PDP) will be essential.
🔹 Every invoice and transaction must be reported directly to the French tax authority.
🔹 Even if you don’t send invoices, you’ll still need to receive them — and possibly share data too.
🔹 If you work with consumers, international clients, or in construction, expect additional e-reporting requirements.
The upside?
✅ Pre-filled VAT returns
✅ Real-time reporting
✅ Stronger fraud prevention
✅ Smoother compliance processes (once you’re set up right!)
