Privacy Policy

How we collect, use and protect personal information. Last updated 14 October 2026.

This policy follows the ten fair information principles in Schedule 1 of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Questions go to our Privacy Officer at privacy@vectorvue.com.

Who we are and who is accountable

VectorVue provides enterprise technology services, software products and IT staffing. This policy explains what personal information we collect through vectorvue.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

We are accountable for the personal information under our control. If you have a question, a request or a complaint, contact our Privacy Officer at privacy@vectorvue.com and we will respond within 30 days.

What we collect, and why

We only collect what a particular interaction needs. We do not sell personal information, and we do not buy it.

  • Contact form — your name, email, optional company and your message, so we can answer you.
  • Job applications — your name, email, optional phone, your resume if you attach one, and anything you tell us, so we can assess your application.
  • Referrals — your name and email as the referrer, and the name and contact details of the person or company you are referring, so we can follow up and pay any fee you earn.
  • Chat — if you leave your details in the chat window, the name, email and optional company you provide, plus what you selected, so someone can get back to you.
  • Where you came from — the referring site, any campaign tags on the link you followed, and the page you landed on. This is attached to an inquiry so we know which channel it came from. It does not identify you.
  • Analytics — if you accept analytics cookies, aggregate information about pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and traffic source.

If you are referring someone else, please only give us their details where you have a genuine professional relationship with them and no reason to think they would object. We contact the person directly and tell them who referred them.

Consent

For forms, providing the information is your consent to us using it for the purpose described at the point of collection. You are never required to give us personal information to browse the site.

Analytics and session-recording cookies load only after you accept them in the banner. Decline and they are never loaded — the site works the same either way. You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser, which brings the banner back.

You can withdraw consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by emailing privacy@vectorvue.com. If you withdraw consent to our use of your application, we will stop considering you for roles.

Who else sees it

We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our business. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.

  • Microsoft 365 — email. Every form on this site sends an email, so anything you submit passes through Microsoft's systems.
  • StaffingPro — our own recruitment system, hosted by us in Canada. Job applications and candidate referrals are recorded here.
  • DigitalOcean — hosting. This website runs on servers in Toronto, Canada.
  • Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity — website analytics and session replay, loaded only with your consent. Both process data outside Canada.

We disclose personal information otherwise only where the law requires it, or to protect our legal rights.

Because some of our providers operate outside Canada, your information may be stored or processed in another country and could be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country. Where we can choose, we keep data in Canada — the website and our recruitment system are both hosted in Toronto.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, and then delete it. This website stores nothing itself — every form sends an email and, for applications and referrals, records the details in our recruitment system.

  • Inquiries and chat messages — 24 months from our last contact with you.
  • Job applications and resumes — 24 months from your application, unless you ask us to keep you on file for longer or you join us. This covers the period in which a human rights complaint can be brought, which is up to two years in some provinces, and meets the one-year minimum that applies where information was used to make a decision about someone.
  • Referrals that resulted in a payment — 7 years, because the payment is a financial record and tax rules require business records to be kept for six years after the end of the tax year they relate to, with some provinces expecting seven.
  • Referrals where no fee became payable — 24 months from submission.
  • Analytics — retained by Google and Microsoft under their own settings; we configure Google Analytics to the shortest practical retention.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep it — a referral payment already made being the usual example.

Keeping it accurate and secure

You can ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date. For applications, the fastest route is usually to send us an updated resume.

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the systems holding personal information is restricted to the people who need it, and protected by individual accounts. Forms carry automated spam protection, which inspects submissions rather than people.

No system is perfectly secure. If a breach occurs that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA you may:

  • Ask what personal information we hold about you, how we use it and who we have disclosed it to.
  • Ask for a copy of it.
  • Ask us to correct it.
  • Withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual limits.
  • Ask us to delete it, where we are not required to keep it.

Email privacy@vectorvue.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are before releasing information, which protects you as much as us.

If you are not satisfied

Tell us first — email privacy@vectorvue.com and we will investigate and explain what we found. If you are still not satisfied, you can take the matter to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change, and revise the date at the top. Material changes will be signalled on the page rather than made quietly.
